Choose A Hilton Head South Carolina Area Real Estate Professional Who Knows What, When and How to do The RIght Things at the Right Time.
Here's some food for thought:
From the Realtors Code of Ethics Preamble:
(Realtors) "continuously strive to become or remain informed on issues affecting real estate"
There is a lot to get your arms around in today's real estate market. The public expects us to KNOW how to advise them--with respect to all things real estate (not law, nor legal advice) that is within the purview of a licensed real estate agent.
All real estate professionals must ask themselves:
- What are the common problems that I have experienced or others have experienced in a short sale?
- Do I know how to address these common problems?
- What are ALL the tasks involved in a short sale?
- Am I adequately prepared to handle these tasks?
- Do I know how to handle a prospective client who is in financial crisis and at a crossroads?
- How can I help these prospects make the best decision for them?
- Do I look at the short sales as too much: paperwork, follow-up, trouble? Or do I enjoy the challenge and the reward of helping avert financial disaster?
When you're working on a short sale--whether you're representing a buyer or a seller, when the agent on the other side of the table is not keeping himself informed on the issues affecting realestate, when they haven't taken the time and trouble to get the education necessary, everyone is at a disadvantage.
As sure as the sky is blue, lack of knowledge will cost everyone more time, energy and money then would be otherwise necessary.
From Article One of the Realtors Code of Ethics:
(Realtors) "Pledge themselves to protect and promote the interest of clients."
To do that, we must be willing to do whatever it takes--with regard to short sales
